Information on Permitted Worker Permits and COVID Safe Plans for the CPV Industry

Permitted Worker Permits for CPV drivers

As of Wednesday 5th August, all commercial passenger vehicle drivers in Melbourne must have a permit to provide services under Stage 4 restrictions.

COVID Safe Plans for the CPV industry

Workplaces that remain open during Stage 4 restrictions require a COVID Safe Plan (unless you are a business with less than 5 employees working at a work premises) If you do  not have a COVID Safe plan it is recommended you do have one.

Most drivers will be able to adopt the COVID Safe Plan of their Booking Service Provider (BSP), provided this meets the requirements outlined on the Business Victoria website for COVID Safe Plans. If so, drivers must comply with any requirements of the COVID Safe Plan of their BSP.

The requirement to have a COVID Safe Plan (for applicable businesses) came into effect from 7 August 2020. A COVID Safe Plan must set out any actions relating to prevention and response in the event that either a confirmed or suspected coronavirus (COVID-19) case is linked to the workplace.
