Gender Equality

I believe men should be held equally responsible for raising the next generation. We are seeing a significant shift in family roles and responsibilities, and this should be reflected by our policies and institutions. Too often we see policy reflect outdated gender roles rather than the modern family we see today.

Not only does supporting fathers in playing a greater role as a parent reduce the workload for mothers but it also improves the development of children. Research suggests that fathers are important for a child’s development.

“I believe we should be doing everything we can to encourage fathers’ participation in the upbringing of their children. Everyone benefits when these responsibilities are shared equally.”
